Though Skrillex walked into Sunday (February 12) night's Grammys having already won three categories during the pre-telecast ceremony earlier in the day, he did not have a chance to give a big acceptance speech before taking to the red carpet.

The EDM DJ and producer spoke with MTV News for the second time in the evening and got to deliver his previously untelevised acceptance speeches, which Skrillex delivered after being confused by stage directions. "I was trying to walk off stage, and I didn't understand," he said. "Someone was yelling at me. Then I had to go back on. It was just crazy.

"I had three speeches that were all kind of weird and all over the place," he continued. "There are so many people that I'd like to thank."

The award for Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical went to Skrillex for his remix of "Cinema," and on the carpet, he wanted to thank the song's original artists. "As far as accepting on behalf of the first one, the remix with Benny Benassi and Gary Go, I always thought it was a beautiful song," he said. "It was an honor to remix it. Benny Benassi is a legend, and Gary Go is so talented and has a beautiful voice."

Skrillex's two other awards from the pre-telecast ceremony came from Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites. (The album won Best Dance/Electronica Album and and the title track won Best Dance Recording.) For Skrillex, the awards were just another indication of how far he's come in such a short time. "It was awesome too because that was my first real coming out and release, my official release," he said. "A year and a half ago, I was homeless. I'm not saying it's about money or anything like that. It's just crazy how quick things happen. They're happening right now. I fly to Europe tomorrow morning. It's just like bam-bam-bam."

But the biggest potential award, Best New Artist, is still ahead for Skrillex, who said that the nod means more than anything. "Just the nominations are enough for me. I'd like to say for the EDM community: It's your guys' nomination, not mine," he said. "Everyone who's been doing it before and everyone who will come out of their bedrooms after me, it's yours."
