When Will Smith was walking the red carpet in Moscow to promote "Men in Black 3," a reporter from the Ukraine got a little fresh with the former Fresh Prince. When a hug turned into an attempted kiss, Smith delivered a slap heard 'round the world, and the actor is now explaining himself.
On Tuesday's "Late Show With David Letterman," Smith recalled the incident.
"He says, 'I'm your biggest fan, can I have a hug?' I go to give this joker a hug, and he, like, tries to lean in to like, kiss me ... it's just awkward, Dave," Smith said.
Smith went on to say that it was later explained to him that the lip-lock was the journalist's "schtick."
"And that's why his a-- got schtuck," Smith said.
