A team of Jacksonville civic and business leaders will attend the Farnborough International Air Show.

Mayor Alvin Brown, Jacksonville Chamber Chair Tom Van Berkel and Jacksonville Aviation Authority?

The Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce announced Tuesday that a team of civic and business leaders will be using the 2012 Farnborough International Air Show to pitch to multi-national organizations on establishing operations in Northeast Florida.

The group will engage directly with more than 12 global aviation and aerospace companies and many U.K.-based companies.

?It is critical that our mayor, JAA leadership and JaxUSA Partnership work in tandem to show that Cecil Airport, as well as other locations throughout our region, are among the best in the world for growth of aviation and aerospace companies,? Van Berkel said in a news release.

The Farnborough air show will take place July 9-15 at an airfield outside of London. It is the second-largest air show in the world. Major aviation parts and aircraft manufacturers and suppliers will be in attendance.

Cecil Field Airport is the primary target for development, but the team will meet with many companies at the show to develop job growth opportunities.

?Cecil Airport offers the largest aviation industrial site in Florida and one of the longest runways in the country,? Grossman said in a news release. ?The availability and opportunity for development is very strong, and the Farnborough Air Show is the most engaging environment in which to market our opportunities.?
