Today?s report on new home construction activity for November from the Commerce Department shows activity slipped from October however is still up significantly from a year ago.? Granted, even though up from a year ago, a year ago construction activity was at anemic levels, however it?s still an improvement.
New Home Construction Numbers for November, 2012:
- Permits for new single family homes were at a seasonally-adjusted annual rate of 565,000 homes, a 0.2 percent decrease from October and a 25.3 percent increase from November 2011.
- New single family starts were at a seasonally-adjusted annual rate of 565,000 homes, a 4.1 percent decrease from October and a 22.8 percent increase from November 2011.
- New single family home completions were at a seasonally-adjusted annual rate of 520,000 homes, a 2.4 percent decrease from October and a 14.3 percent increase from November 2011.
